HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT IN CROSSVILLE ENDS WITH ARREST

A recent high speed pursuit in Crossville ended with the suspected driver taken into custody. The report released today states police observed a black Jeep driven by 52-year-old Kirby Lynn Thompson pull out of Heather Ridge Apartments onto Genesis Road and accelerated at a high rate of speed. Thompson turned onto Wayne Avenue reaching speeds up to 90 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. The chase continued out to near Highway 70 East and Peavine Road when Thompson stopped and fled on foot into a wooded area. A passenger in the Jeep told officers Thompson did not stop because he did not want to go to jail for driving on a suspended license. He was found later and arrested for reckless endangerment and evading arrest.
