Sunday afternoon, Cumberland County deputies took custody of 26-year-old Robert Lee Howard IV of Spencer, from deputies at the Van Buren Sheriff’s Office. Howard was served with warrants for felony violation of probation, felony evading arrest, reckless endangerment and driving on a revoked license.

On Friday, March 15, Howard had led more than a dozen law-enforcement officers on a high-speed chase through Cumberland County and into Bledsoe County, where he later rolled and crashed his vehicle into a guardrail along U.S. Highway 127 South in Pikeville.
