HIGH SPEED PURSUIT ENDS WITH ARREST OF ROCKWOOD MAN

A high-speed pursuit in Cumberland County Saturday ended with the arrest of a Rockwood man. While on patrol on Westel Road, a deputy observed a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Jason G. Pollard traveling at 70 miles per hour in a posted 25 mph zone. The chase went to I-40 where Pollard pulled over after traveling a short distance. A check revealed his driver’s license was revoked and he had three outstanding warrants, two from Roane County and one from Cumberland. Pollard allegedly told officers the vehicle was not his. A search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a firearm, meth, digital scales, a safe containing nearly $43,000 and a ledger. Pollard was charged with manufacture, sale and delivery of meth, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, possession of a legend drug, driving on a revoked license, theft of property, resisting arrest and theft of merchandise. He was transported to jail and initially placed on bonds totaling $200,500.
