HOME RANSACKED BY BURGLAR IN EASTERN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A Cumberland County deputy responded Wednesday to a home on Mount Roosevelt Road for a burglary.
The homeowner told the officer four four-wheelers were stolen from a barn on the property.
The deputy went inside the home to see obvious signs of burglary throughout the dwelling.
A Taurus handgun and a shotgun were stolen.
The report states the intruder tried to gain access to the home by using a pick axe to force a door open. The attempt was not successful. There was a metal bar about chest high preventing the door from opening. The burglar then used the axe to smash a window to gain access.
Officers found blood on the axe used in the burglary. They found more traces of blood in one of the rooms in the residence.
The incident report did not identify any suspects.
The deputy listed loss and damages at over $30,000.
