HONDA OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLES RECALLED FOR CRASH, INJURY HAZARDS

American Honda has recalled its off-road motorcycles because of crash and injury hazards, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced.

The company recalled the products yesterday and said about 3,200 had been sold. CPSC stated that the product’s clutch outer can break. Honda said that 19 reports of clutch failure have been reported. Two of the failures led to engine lock up. So far, no crashes or injuries have been reported.

The recall involves all 2018 Model Year CRF250R off-road motorcycles. According to the CPSC, the products were sold in a red color. The names “HONDA” and “CRF2504” are printed on the sides of the motorcycles.

CPSC reported that consumers should stop using the vehicles immediately and contact their local Honda Powersports dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair.

The motorcycles were sold from November 2017 through July 2018 for about $8,000.
