HOOPER ARRESTED AFTER SAWED OFF SHOTGUN REPORTEDLY FOUND
While patrolling early yesterday morning, Cumberland County deputies noticed a vehicle parked at Pomona Market when the store was closed. A check of an occupant in the GMC Yukon, 32-year-old Joseph Matthew Hooper of Clarkrange, revealed a warrant for aggravated assault in Fentress County. An orange pill was supposedly found in his wallet. Hooper was charged with simple possession of drugs and possession of a prohibited weapon as a sawed off shotgun was apparently found in the vehicle. Another subject, 29-year-old Candice N. Kirby of Sparta, was served an outstanding warrant.
