HUB RESPONDS TO TWO POWER OUTAGES IN BELOW FREEZING WEATHER
Just after 8 p.m. last night (Sunday, December 31, 2017) around 800 Harriman Utility District (HUB) customers in the Swan Pond/Emory Heights area lost power in below freezing temperatures. HUB crews quickly responded to comb a five-mile stretch of power lines in the dark to locate and repair the issue. Power was restored around an hour after the power went out. A second power outage affecting HUB customers took place around 11 last night in the Meadowview/Lee Village area after a vehicle slammed into a power pole. No injuries were reported in the accident and crews again worked quickly to restore power by midnight.
