IDENTITY RELEASED OF MOTORCYCLIST KILLED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY ACCIDENT ON I-40

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released the identity of a motorcyclist killed Easter morning on I-40 in Cumberland County.

Troopers say a 2017 Harley Davidson operated by 59-year-old Ronald Eugene Buechler of Indiana and a 2017 Kia Forte driven by 29-year-old Charles Baldwin Ingram were both heading west at the 336.8-mile marker.

The report states Buechler was slowing down because of traffic congestion.

Troopers stated Ingram became distracted by a young child in his vehicle and did not slow down.

The Kia rear-ended the motorcycle, resulting in Buechler being ejected and struck by the Kia.

Buechler passed away from injuries sustained.

Ingram was hurt in the crash. The child in his vehicle was not injured.

Troopers did not indicate charges as a result of the crash.
