INVESTIGATION CALLED FOR INTO ALLEGATIONS OF EMPLOYEE AB– USE IN HO– USE SPEAKER’S OFFICE
Officials in Nashville are calling for an investigation into allegations of worker abuse in House Speaker Beth Harwell’s Office. An office employee, who is being identified as Staffer 1, claims that an administrative officer raised his middle finger at the employee’s 2-year-old granddaughter and also called the staffer derogatory names several times. Rep. Billy Spivey has called for a complete investigation into reported mental and emotional abuses toward the employee by House Clerk Joe McCord. The letter that Spivey received from the worker also complained of employees “living in constant fear of being fired and retaliation from those in leadership.”
