KINGSTON MAN ARRESTED AFTER SHOTS FIRED NEAR ELLIS ROAD HOME

A Roane County man was arrested late last week after an alleged altercation involving a firearm. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to an Ellis Road residence were 43-year-old George Rolland Wicks of Kingston allegedly drove by the home several times yelling racial slurs towards two individuals. While speaking to one of the subjects at the home, officers heard three to four gunshots then seconds later a blue Ford Explorer came into the driveway at a high rate of speed. Two individuals in the vehicle told officers at the scene that Wicks allegedly shot at them. Officers say the incident took place from a domestic dispute between Wicks and others that were at the scene. Deputies went to Wicks residence where they allegedly observed him standing in the driveway holding a Ruger AR15 rifle. Officers ordered him to lower his weapon which he complied. Officers noted that several residences were in close range as well as in the immediate area to where the weapon was allegedly fired. Wicks was arrested and charged with at least two counts of reckless endangerment involving a weapon and transported to the Roane County jail.
