LOCAL POLICE CHIEF PICKS UP PAPERS TO RUN FOR FENTRESS SHERIFF

Eight individuals have picked up papers as of noon today to run for offices in Fentress County for the upcoming May election. For sheriff, the only one so far to get papers is current Crossville Police Department Chief David Beaty. Gretta York plans to run for county clerk, Patricia Slaven for register of deeds and Joey Reagan for road superintendent. Brian Meadows and Angie Sweet picked up their papers to run for county trustee. And for county commissioner, George Pittman in district 3 and Relerford Lee Brown in district four plan to run. The qualifying deadline is April 5, 2018 and the county election is August 2, 2018.
