Local Residents Arrested on Drug, Weapons Charges
Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies arrested three local men outside a home on the 4000 block of Highway 70 East Friday night.
Fifty-five-year-old Joe Levi Reagan and his 53-year-old brother Thomas Leon Reagan were in a vehicle parked outside the home; 34-year-old Jason Lyle Nash was stopped as he was about to enter the vehicle.
A strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle; a search turned up a bag containing 9.5 grams of pot and two pill bottles with approximately 24 grams of meth.
The search further netted a loaded 12-gauge Remington shotgun and an AR-style rifle with three loaded magazines. The rifle was confirmed as having been stolen from Bedford County on May 1.
Deputies also seized $120, believed to be proceeds from the sale of narcotics.
The Reagan brothers, who are both convicted felons, were charged with felony possession of meth, felony possession of a firearm while committing a felony, unlawful possession of a weapon, theft of property and simple possession. Joe Reagan was placed under $465,000 bond and is due in court November 29. Thomas Reagan was placed under $615,000 bond and has a December 17 court date.
A search of Nash turned up three used syringes, a plastic baggie and a bottle cap containing meth. Charged with felony possession of meth and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, Nash was booked on $3,500 bond and is due in court December 17. The White County Sheriff’s Office has also placed a hold on Nash.
