Crossville police went to a gas station on North Main Street next to I-40 for a theft. An 18-year-old employee told officers a backpack containing school books and two laptops was taken from her vehicle by an adult female. The suspect, 31-year-old Amber Nikki Mallard of Crossville, then walked to the Executive Inn and went into one of the rooms. Mallard was arrested for theft of property.
