MAN ACC– USED OF KILLING K-9 OFFICER APPEARS IN COURT
A Cumberland County man appeared in criminal court this week on charges stemming from the death of a Crossville K-9 officer. Back in August 2017, 28-year-old Dustin Lee Dixon of Crossville ran from police and after K-9 Officer Cain was deployed to stop Dixon, he reportedly stabbed the officer to death. Dixon is charged with the intentional killing of a service animal, theft over $10,000, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, DUI, evading arrest, and violation of the implied consent law. In court this week, the judge set a return court date for Dixon of February 26, 2018 where a trial date could possibly be set.
