MAN ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY ATTACKING WOMAN

A Roane County man is facing charges following an altercation. According to the arrest report, officers were called to a residence on Hassler Mill Road for a disturbance. Deputies walked up to the porch and observed through a small opening in the curtains that 50-year-old Robert Wesley Bandy of Harriman was sitting in a chair with an open knife in his hand. Officers reportedly heard a female victim inside the home say that she did not want to die. Deputies got the woman out of the residence but Bandy shut the door with an officer inside. Authorities reportedly busted the door open and Bandy was taken into custody. Officers noted numerous injuries to the victims face and head. She was transported to Roane Medical Center for treatment. Bandy was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bandy was transported to the Roane County jail and placed under $55,000 bond.
