MAN ARRESTED AFTER POLICE FIND BLOODIED WOMAN
Late yesterday afternoon, Crossville police were summoned to a Aster Street residence off Goodwin Street to an altercation. According to the arrest report, officers arrived to find a bloodied woman at the scene. Officers say 42-year-old Pedro Marquez of Crossville struck the woman several times in the face with a closed fist. Authorities say that is when another man grabbed a baseball bat and tried to run Marquez off. Marquez reportedly grabbed a knife from a vehicle. The victim reportedly grabbed the bat and Marquez allegedly attempted to stab her. He allegedly got possession of the bat and hit the victim on the shoulder. Before leaving, Marquez reportedly threatened to the woman and her family. Medical personnel were called and transported the victim to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Marquez was arrested two hours later on Main Street. He was charged with aggravated assault.
