MAN CAUGHT AFTER STEALING, FORGING CHECKS FROM HIS OWN FATHER FOR DRUGS
Tuesday morning, Crossville police conducting a traffic stop along Elmore Road learned the passenger, 61-year-old Doyle Glenn Rector of Crossville had stashed a needle in the center console. Rector admitted to being a narcotics user and was intending to purchase drugs that day.
A search of his person turned up two checks, which Rector claimed his father had written.
When contacted about his son’s statement, Rector’s father said he did not write the checks. Rector was arrested for theft and forgery. The two checks, totaling $550, were seized as evidence.
