MAN CHARGED AFTER CONFRONTATION WITH DEPUTIES

Roane County deputies recently responded to a residence on Gallaher View Road for a domestic disturbance. According to the report, a female told officers that 41-year-old Ronald William Drumwright of Kingston allegedly threatened to cut her with a knife. Officers attempted to make contact with Drumwright who reportedly went upstairs and locked himself in a bedroom. One deputy kick the door open after repeated requests for the door to be opened and attempted to tase Drumwright who slammed the door shut as the officer fired the taser. The leads of the taser hit the door. The officer kicked the door open again and was going to attempt to tase the suspect a second time but Drumwright reportedly had something in his right hand. The suspect slammed the door a second time and officer again tried verbally to convince Drumwright to come out of the room. After 45 minutes, Drumwright surrendered and came out. Drumwright was charged with aggravated domestic assault and transported to the Roane County jail.
