MAN CHARGED FOR PUBLIC INTOXICATION AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Crossville police responded to reports of a man “bothering customers and yelling at cars” at the Walgreens on Elmore Road Monday evening. Police say Paul Michael Lenz, age 37, claimed people were after him, intending to assault him – and the only cars he reportedly acknowledged were those he believed to be associated with those allegedly trying to harm him. Earlier, police had been called about Lenz allegedly knocking over garbage cans. Police say Lenz admitted using narcotics two days earlier and was still feeling the effects. Later, according to reports, police responded to calls about a suspicious man on Darrell Avenue, knocking on people’s doors, claiming someone was after him. Just before midnight, officers responded to Braun Cove and found Lenz standing on a porch. The responding officer said Lenz’s level of intoxication had not changed from their prior encounter at Walgreens. Based on descriptions provided by each complainant, Lenz was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
