MAN EJECTED, ANOTHER HURT IN INTERSTATE 40 VEHICLE ACCIDENT

A vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Cumberland County yesterday afternoon (Saturday, August 26, 2017) resulted in two injuries. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2002 Acura driven by 18-year-old Juan Martinez of Nashville was traveling east at the 317 mile marker at a high rate of speed when he lost control attempting to pass another vehicle. The Acura then rolled over a couple of times and came to rest. A passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Ruben Villalobo of Antioch was ejected from the car. Both Martinez and Villalobo were transported to Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville for treatment of injuries sustained. Troopers say neither man was restrained at the time of the accident.
