The 79th Pine Orchard Community Fair will be held September 9, 2017 from 9 am until 7 pm at the Pine Orchard Community Building located at 2906 Airport Road in Oakdale, Tennessee. The fair will feature exhibits of homegrown produce, fruits, canned goods, sewing, flowers and other homemade projects. Officials there will be selling chances on a handmade quilt to be raffled off that evening. There usually are local craft vendors set up, and there will be music in the afternoon of gospel, bluegrass and country by local musicians. There will also be turkey and dressing or ham plate lunches and homemade desserts available starting at 11 am. Hamburgers, hot dogs and barbecue sandwiches will also be for sale. The Pine Orchard Community Fair first started in 1938. There are no rides unless a neighbor does a hay ride around the grounds. All monies made during the fair go toward the upkeep of the community building. The building is used by many in the community for baby and wedding showers, birthday parties, family reunions, class reunions as well as wedding receptions.
