MAN FALLS FROM CLIFFS AT CUMMINS STATE PARK

An unidentified man suffered serious injuries after falling from the cliffs at Cummins Falls State Park Monday. Park Officials say the victim was attempting to climb up a cliff when he fell about 40 to 50 feet and landed on the rocks below. Park rangers and Jackson County emergency crews managed to get the man back up the cliff, where he was transferred from an ambulance to a medical helicopter. They say that the trail the man was using is an emergency evacuation route and that there is a much safer trail to use to get down to the waterfall. There is no word on the man’s condition.
