MAN FOUND GUILTY OF MURDER AND DISMEMBERING WOMANS BODY

A trial for a Overton County, Tennessee man charged with a brutal murder in Clay County ended last night (Friday, August 18, 2017) with a guilty verdict. Officers arrested 57-year-old Edward Walsh of Hilham and charged him with murder with the death of Melisha Moser in 2015. Her body was discovered by a utility worker installing cable lines in a shallow grave in Clay County. During the investigation into the murder, Walsh told authorities that the two had a rocky relationship over finances and drug abuse. At one point an argument had broken out in which he choked Moser until she became unconscious. Walsh also told investigators that he decided to dispose of her body in multiple locations and took two days to dig a shallow grave that he would eventually would place Mosier’s torso. He allegedly dismembered her body in the bathroom, placed her torso in a shallow grave and her limbs inside a freezer. Last night around 8:30, a Clay County jury found Walsh guilty of first-degree premeditated murder and abuse of a corpse. District Attorney Bryant Dunaway and Assistant District Attorney Mark Gore prosecuted the case. Walsh will spend the rest of his life in prison.
