MAN MIS– USES 911 EMERGENCY NUMBER
Earlier this week, Crossville Police charged a Spencer man with misuse of the 911 emergency number. Units responded to the Pilot Travel Plaza for the report of a man who was being shot at by men in a pickup. Contact was made with the complainant William Gordon Cornell, who told officers that the men were in an SUV with what he thought were guns or sticks. Witnesses at the travel plaza said they did not see any such action directed toward Cornell, and so officers concluded that Cornell had filed a false report. It was also discovered that Cornell had an outstanding warrant.
