Authorities in Rockwood arrested a man Tuesday whom they say had an explosive device. Police were looking for Larry Adkisson who had an active warrant for his arrest when the suspect’s car was observed parked at Riggs Chapel Church in Harriman. Witnesses said that Adkisson may have had a bomb and had not “planned on going to jail.” The Knox County Bomb Squad was called to the scene. Adkisson was later picked up on Pine Ridge Rd. but an investigation led police to a location in Rockwood where an explosive device was found and rendered safe. Adkisson faces charges for evading arrest and reckless driving. Also, there are charges against him in Anderson County.
