MISSING GEORGIA TEEN’S BODY FOUND IN TELLICO PLAINS MOUNTAINS
The body of missing 16-year-old Ryan Haley of Cumming, Georgia, was discovered over the weekend in the mountains of Tellico Plains. The teen disappeared March 21. It was believed he had headed north around the Coker Creek area.
The Monroe County Rescue Squad, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Emergency Management Agency organized a search party after finding clothing, a cell phone and a wallet while clearing trails this past Friday.
The sheriff’s office said they discovered the body, believed to have fallen from a ravine into a creek, on Saturday. Haley’s parents identified the body as that of their missing son.
A private funeral service will be held on Friday.
According to his obituary, Ryan “loved skateboarding, outdoors, hiking, animals and hanging out with his friends.” He is survived by his parents, sister, grandparents and many other relatives and friends.
