Michael Ruppe’s family recently announced that unfortunately Michael has been found deceased.

“It is with the heaviest hearts that we share that Michael has been found, and he is no longer with us.

Our family is completely devastated. We are still waiting for answers and respectfully ask for privacy as we process this unimaginable loss and allow the proper authorities to complete their investigation.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who shared his information, searched, prayed, reached out, and kept our family in your thoughts over the past several days. Your support has meant more than we can ever express.

The outpouring of support from Anderson, Cumberland, Morgan, Roane, Scott and Sevier Counties rescue squads, canine teams and EMA personnel has been overwhelming and beyond appreciated.

We are so thankful that you came out today to help give us closure. Thank God for your service and commitment to helping us as a family.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Family and friends are urgently appealing to the public for assistance in locating 39-year-old Michael Ruppe, who has been missing since the early hours of July 1, 2026.

According to reports, Ruppe was last seen at approximately 12:44 a.m. driving down Eagle Point behind Oakdale School. The following day, July 2, authorities located his vehicle, which had been abandoned and was out of gas.

Investigators note that Rupe’s last known phone call was placed shortly before his disappearance at 12:12 a.m. on July 1. His phone has remained off or dead since that time, raising deep concerns for his safety.

Loved ones have provided the following description to help identify Ruppe:

• Age: 39

• Height: 5’5″

• Weight: 150 lbs

• Appearance: Brown hair and brown eyes

• Last Seen Wearing: A white T-shirt, gray gym shorts, Nike tennis shoes, and prescription Oakley glasses.

The family is currently offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to locating Michael.
