A Putnam County man has been charged with rape of a child, sexual exploitation of a minor and observation without consent. Officers say the investigation regarding Leslie Bryant Thurman of Monterey started last year by the Monterey Police Department and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. Authorities say the victim was 5 years old when she was first allegedly sexually assaulted by Thurman and it continued until she was 12 years old. Thurman was transported to the Putnam County jail and placed under $115,000 bond.
