MORE DETAILS ON ARREST OF 66-YEAR-OLD CHARGED WITH SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF MINOR
Additional information has been released concerning the arrest of a 66-year-old man charged with under-age sex crimes. 9th District Attorney General Russell Johnson says that Sammy Curtis Barnard was arrested in a Crimes Against Children sting operation. Barnard believed that he was soliciting sex from a 16-year-old female on Facebook, but the female was actually an agent with CAC task force. The meeting was supposed to take place at the Super 8 Motel in Kingston and DA Johnson says that Barnard also sent the agent a picture of his genitals. Officers arrested Barnard in the Hardee’s parking lot next to the motel. The report also states that Bernard was a convicted felon who was working on community corrections, although it’s not certain if it was in Roane County.
