MOTHER FACES COURT ON THURSDAY AFTER 15-MONTH-OLD CHILD OVERDOSES
On May 2, 2026, law enforcement executed a search warrant on Morgan Road in Crossville, Tennessee, the residence of Cali Ann Harris, in connection with the overdose of her 15-month-old child, Leilan Harris. The child was transported unresponsive to Cumberland Medical Center by his mother, where he was revived with Narcan and then airlifted to Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital in Knoxville. During the investigation, officers found three white oval pills imprinted with “D25” (identified as Gabapentin 800 mg) in the child’s room—one in a backpack containing Cali Ann Harris’s personal items and two in a dresser with children’s clothing.
In the mother’s bedroom, authorities located multiple pieces of burnt foil and cut straws. A piece of foil containing an off-white crystal shard, believed to be methamphetamine (approximately 0.34 grams), was also found in the dresser with children’s clothing. Harris admitted to smoking heroin/fentanyl off aluminum foil and using methamphetamine, stating she last used heroin on April 30, 2026, and methamphetamine on April 29, 2026.
Arrest warrants detailing these findings were issued for Harris and sworn before Judicial Commissioner Christy Stone on May 3, 2026, by Det. Keyton Harthun. The cases are scheduled on the Cumberland County General Sessions Court Criminal Docket for May 14, 2026.
