MOTION TO SET ASIDE GUILTY PLEA IN LOUIE TAMMARO II MURDER DENIED

A lawyer for a Cumberland County woman convicted of murder requested a judge in a motion filed to set aside his clients plea. Richard Gaines, the attorney for 39-year-old Stephanie Cole, also requested the court to reinstate her right for a trial. Cole entered a guilty plea in March 2016 to first-degree murder in the shooting death of Louie Tammaro II in Lake Tansi back in 2014. Cole was sentenced to life and will not be eligible for parole until she is at least in her late 80’s. The motion filed by Gaines claims that evidence was obtained by an unconstitutional search and seizure, that she was coerced into a confession to authorities and on supposed new evidence that could be presented. After hearing the motion in court, Judge David Patterson denied Gaines motion.
