NASHVILLE AND MIDDLE TENNESSEE FLOODING FROM HURRICANE REMNANTS

A temporary relief shelter opened overnight Thursday in Davidson County after severe flooding displaced several residents across the area. The remnants of Hurricane Harvey began moving through Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky Thursday afternoon, prompting tornado warnings and dumping torrential rains. Residents in Nashville said it hasn’t been this bad since the catastrophic flooding back in 2010. According to reports, several rescues have taken place since the rains began. According to Metro’s EMA, some parts of the greater Nashville area received as much as 8.88 inches of rain within a 24-hour period.
