A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Highway 70 East near Daysville Road in Cumberland County just before 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Troopers say a 1996 Harley Davidson operated by 59-year-old Walter Onopa of Tennessee was traveling west when he failed to maintain his lane of travel.

The motorcycle crossed the center line and struck a guardrail on the left side of the roadway. The Harley Davidson continued westbound, crossed the centerline again, and hit another guardrail on the right side of the road.

Onopa passed away from injuries sustained in the crash.

The report states he was wearing a helmet when the accident happened.
