A Cumberland County deputy encountered 25-year-old Devon Michael Murphy of Crossville in a vehicle Saturday on Dripping Springs Road. A check revealed Murphy was wanted on three felony charges in Putnam County. Murphy allegedly threw the automobile in reverse and slung gravel at the officer. A chase ensued that ended on a dirt road near the county line. Murphy later surrendered to authorities and was transported to the jail in Cookeville. Warrants were signed on him in Cumberland County for reckless endangerment and evading arrest.
