NASHVILLE, MURFREESBORO, MEMPHIS VA HOSPITALS RANK NEAR BOTTOM OF NATION’S LIST

Tennessee’s VA hospitals continue to be ranked near the bottom of the Veteran’s Affair Centers across the nation. In recent findings, Nashville, Murfreesboro and Memphis all received one-star ratings, with five being the best. According to officials, over half of the VA hospitals around the country that had problems in the past have improved ratings. The same cannot be said for those in Tennessee that were also low in the rankings in the previous year. The department scores 146 of its medical centers based on death and infection rates, wait times, and instances of avoidable complications. Those state hospitals with low rankings are notorious for allegations concerning uncaring service in all of those categories. Some of the highest-rated VA hospitals include Lexington, KY, and Charleston, SC. Both received five stars two years in a row.
