NEW OLIVER SPRINGS CITY ALDERMAN SWORN IN
Newly appointed Oliver Springs Alderman Kenneth Brown was given the oath of office at a city council meeting last week. The ceremony was conducted by City Judge Joe Van Hook. Brown immediately was placed in the seat that was vacated by 12-year-veteran Omar Cox. Cox, who decided to not run for re-election last year, was not present at the meeting. City Officials said that they would hold off presenting Cox with a special plaque that commemorates his many years of service to the citizens of Oliver Springs.
