NEW SENTENCING DATE SET FOR MAN CONVICTED OF MONEY LAUNDERING
A sentencing hearing has been delayed for a White County man convicted of wire fraud and money laundering. Court officials say Jeff Gentry was supposed to be sentenced today, but the court rescheduled the hearing because of the number of victims in the case and potential forfeiture and restitution issues that needed more time to address. Gentry’s case centers around his role in a $43 million ponzi-type-scheme. Federal authorities said Gentry used his Sparta-based business to bilk investors out of some 10-million dollars. The new sentencing date for Gentry is April 26, 2018.
