OAK RIDGE FD AND PARAMEDICS SAVE MOUNTAIN BIKER WITH BROKEN ANKLE

The Oak Ridge Fire Dept. and paramedics helped a 58-year-old mountain biker who broke his ankle on Sunday while in the area of Haw Ridge Park. Working with 911 Disptach Operators, the caller’s cell phone was tracked to a section of the park near water on the southeast side of a trail. The biker was riding alone when he wrecked on a hill and broke his ankle. EMS personnel hiked to the area while a rescue boat was dispatched from Solway Park boat ramp. Two other bikers assisted the victim until emergency personnel arrived on the scene.
