A routine search for a stolen motorcycle on Westel Road led Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies to uncover more than they bargained for, resulting in the arrest of an Oak Ridge woman on August 20, 2026.

According to incident reports, deputies responded to a house on Westel Road at the request of the Roane County Sheriff’s Office to locate a stolen motorcycle tied to a probation violation suspect.

After gaining entry to the residence, deputies located the stolen vehicle in a back room. While continuing to search the home for the suspect, officers discovered a blonde female hiding beneath a pile of clothing inside a closet.

When asked for identification, the woman claimed she had none and provided the name “Tammy Conger” along with a birth date of November 12, 1971—a detail that raised immediate suspicion given her youthful appearance. Dispatch was unable to verify the identity.

Another resident identified the woman as “Hayley,” and she was subsequently detained and placed in a patrol cruiser.

Once secured, the suspect admitted her true identity was Hayley Anne Lemons, 30, of Oak Ridge.

A records check revealed Lemons had an active warrant out of Anderson County for a probation violation. She was transported to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office intake facility and officially charged with criminal impersonation. Her bond was set at $2,500, with a General Sessions court appearance scheduled for October 5, 2026. The recovered motorcycle was successfully returned to the Roane County Sheriff’s Office.
