OLIVER SPRINGS IN TALKS TO HOST SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN RR M– USEUM
Oliver Springs would like to see the Southern Appalachian Railroad move to their city. City Manager Chris Mason has met with officials of the company to ask about a potential move. Energy Solutions has told the company that the contract for the museum and train rides to operate inside the former K-25 site, now known as The Heritage Center, was not renewable since railroad operations that involved moving cars in and out of the site are no longer needed. The railroad is seeking a new home for the museum and Mason says that talks are moving forward about possibly locating the museum near the town’s depot.
