ONE FATALITY INCLUDED IN 2 WRECKS IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY LAST WEEKEND
A Madisonville man died in a crash in Cumberland County last Friday. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released the report that occurred Friday at 3:30 PM on westbound I-40. A 2000 Chevy sedan driven by 38-year-old Jose E Ayala Jr. left the right side of the roadway at mile marker 329, traveled down an embankment and struck a large tree. Emergency Personnel found Ayala dead-at-the-scene. He was wearing a seatbelt. Another accident was reported Saturday on Highway 127 North at Butternut Ridge Rd. Authorities are still investigating that crash which involved four vehicles: a Chevy Silverado, a Chevy Trailblazer, a Ford pickup and an unidentified Dodge. According to THP, two people were transported by helicopter to UT Medical Center for unknown injuries.
