OPERATION SOUTHERN SHIELD SEEKS TO CRACK DOWN ON SPEEDING DRIVERS
Tennessee is one of five states participating in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s “Operation Southern Shield” initiative. Starting Monday, this week-long effort aims to curb speeding and get drivers to observe the rules of the road and arrive at their destinations safely.
Tennessee Highway Patrol Lieutenant Bill Miller said, “You may get a citation, you may simply get a written warning or an oral warning, but we want to make as many contacts with drivers as possible to make sure you understand the severity of your actions if you speed.”
