OUTSIDE BURN PERMITS REQUIRED IN AREA

Starting this Sunday (October 15, 2017), anyone outside of cities in the area will need to get a burn permit from the county they reside in or the state forestry service before doing any outside burning. Officials say the burn permit season runs from October 15, 2017 to May 15, 2018. Despite much needed rainfall recently, the burn permits are required in the season. Anyone caught burning debris outside without a permit could be fined and summoned to court. City residents need to contact their respective city government or fire department to check their burning laws prior to conducting any outside burning. Any burning conducted within the City of Crossville requires a permit year round.
