PARKING LOT DISTURBANCE LANDS SOBBING INTOXICATED MAN IN JAIL

Saturday night, Crossville police were called to the Ashton Place Apartments for a report of a man and a woman yelling in the parking lot. Police say 26-year-old William Joseph Carmack was highly intoxicated and sobbing uncontrollably, and unable to tell them what had happened.

Officers report they had to help him walk to the front of the patrol car because he could not walk safely on his own. Carmack was also observed to have dirt on his pants, as if he’d fallen in the mud. He was said to have smelled strongly of an intoxicating beverage, and admitted having drunk two bottles of wine.

According to the report, Carmack repeatedly said his wife was mean and he wanted his daughter. He also reportedly claimed a man “had accused him of being mean and he had not been mean to anybody.”

Other witnesses claimed there had been no physical altercation, just damage to a vehicle.

Carmack was charged with public intoxication.
