STORY UPDATE – The work TDOT was scheduled to start this morning (Monday, July 16, 2018) to finish the slide project on Highway 68 in Rhea County has been postponed until tomorrow (Tuesday, July 17, 2018) because of the possibility of rain today. The two-day closure will now begin at 5 a.m. Eastern tomorrow. So for today, the road will remain open to one lane controlled with a signal. If inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances again prohibit this work from occurring, it will be rescheduled to take place at a later date.
