PATTERSON SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS FOR 2ND-DEGREE MURDER

Clinton, Tennessee – May 5, 2025, Judge Ryan M. Spitzer sentenced Defendant George M. Patterson, age 69, to the maximum sentence of twenty-five (25) years in prison on one (1) count of Second-Degree Murder. Patterson had been found guilty in a jury trial in February of 2025.
During the Sentencing Hearing, prosecutors argued for the maximum sentence on Mr. Patterson.
The case was investigated by the Rocky Top Police Department with the assistance of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. General Clark would like to thank the Rocky Top Fire Department, Anderson County EMS, Knox County Regional Forensic Center, Assistant District Attorneys Sarah W. Keith and Meredith E. Slemp, Judge Ryan M. Spitzer and Victim Witness Coordinator Katherine Sellers for their exceptional work during the investigation of this case and prosecution.
