Volunteer Energy Cooperative will conduct a planned power outage for Fairfield Glade and Hebbertsburg areas of Cumberland County starting tonight (August 11, 2017) starting at 11 pm. The outage will last around six hours and should be fully restored by 5 am tomorrow (Saturday, August 12, 2017). The power outage is to make final connections to the new lines that feed the Fairfield Glade substation on Peavine Road. This outage is identical to the one held in May of this year. VEC officials recommend that anyone in these areas using medical equipment, such as an oxygen machine or CPAP, should make arrangements during the outage.
