POLICE PURSUIT IN CROSSVILLE ENDS WITH ARREST

Crossville police observed a driver in a pickup truck around 2:30 a.m. yesterday northbound on North Main Street driving erratically.

The officer pulled over 31-year-old Alex Michael Christopher Tirenin of Grandview at Burger King.

The arrest report states Tirenin told the officer he had been drinking.

When asked to get out of the truck, Tirenin reportedly said he was leaving and drove off at a high rate of speed.

A vehicle pursuit started on North Main Street at 77 miles an hour at one point. The suspect slowed and turned right on Industrial Boulevard.

Tirenin stopped in the parking lot of First National Bank of Tennessee.

Tirenin barricaded himself in his vehicle, refusing to get out.

Police attempted to remove him from the automobile.

An officer deployed his taser with the probes striking Tirenin.

He was taken into custody for DUI, reckless endangerment, evading arrest, and several traffic violations.
