RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES

The Crossville area has now had five straight days with record high temperatures around 80 degrees. October was the second warmest and the second driest on record with records dating back to 1954. We have only had 1.36 inches of rain in the last 62 days . In most years when we had a warm and dry October we had some rather severe winter weather in the following months, sometimes it was a big snow… sometimes it was bitter cold . I think at some point this winter we are really going to pay several times for this beautiful weather we have enjoyed. October of 1984 is a good example, it was just as warm and dry as this October was and the following January of 1985, we had the coldest temperatures ever recorded in Cumberland County .
