RECOVERY EFFORTS CONTINUE FOR BODY OF WOMAN MISSING IN DALE HOLLOW LAKE

Recovery efforts continued this afternoon for the body of a woman that went missing at an area lake yesterday. The Overton County Rescue Squad and Clay County EMS started their search for 46-year-old Christina Esparza of Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee on Dale Hollow Lake in Clay County yesterday around noon. Officials said Esparza went out in separate boats with her 17-year-old son. A short time later, her son looked back to check on his mother who was not there. Witnesses from a nearby boat dock reported that Esparza was struggling to keep up with her son. TWRA officials say both were not wearing life jackets. Esparzas son was taken care of by DCS until family members could arrive from out of state.

(As of 5 pm central time Monday May 1, 2017, crews were still searching. Officials say the search is being hampered by high winds on the lake)
